Family history and genealogyhas been a hobby since 1969 and started in college as a part of a history project. I have met some wonderful people and learned a lot about myself. There are literally hundreds of surnames and 15,888 individuals in my family tree on this WEB site. Please feel free to browse and see if your ancestors are there. I can provide GED files for those of you with genealogical software so you can import your family data. I have added some "PDF" files in the Adobe Acrobat format.

NEW: I have added three sets of dynamic (HTML) Pedigree Charts: Wirkkala, Altom & Forescher (which includes the Goldsby pedigree). I hope you enjoy this new feature. Go to the genealogy page to begin using them. I also have the tried and true "Family Group Sheets - Surnames Index" which can be accessed from the Genealogy Page.

I always welcome correspondence and try to respond quickly.
Before Mom (Sarah M. Altom) died she wrote a letter to her children . It is a wonderful and touching letter. I have reproduced a portion of it as it relates to her courtship and life with Dad.
I hope you enjoy A Mother's Testimony.

What The Bible Says

If you have an interest in a subject matter and wonder if the Bible has anything to say about it, type the topic into the window below and select the search button. Go ahead. You may be surprised at the wisdom and range of topics found in that beloved book! (It will take you to a different site - you may wish to bookmark this one first.)

My friend and Mentor, John Willis Lancaster, has spent much of His life in the pastoral ministry. He is one of those unique men who communicate with a quick wit and deep insight - and does it in few words!. I'm happy to recommend two of his writings which he hs posted on-line. I know you will love "First Rest - Then Victory: Joshua For Today" and "A Very Present Help: Psalms For Today."
