The Goldsby Family In America

I am anxious to receive your comments, corrections and additions. This most recent posting includes information provided by family who have seen this site and made important contributions.

This web site reflects new information and changes made in my genealogy database on 19 March 2000. The changes include:

1. Addition of GOLDSBY: Etymology Of the Family Name
2. Information on ancestor, Thomas GOLDSBY (Elizabeth SHARPE) including his Parents names. Thanks to Donald Albert Goldsby, Clayton, Indiana, USA.
   
3. Based on current information Briggs Minty (Minta) Goldsby, and his siblings, were in the wrong family. Thanks to Donald Albert Goldsby, Clayton, Indiana for the correction.
   One confirming piece of evidence is that Briggs great grandmother's surname (in the family as he is now situated) was Minty, his middle name. This name has been a question mark as documents have shown it spelled Minta and Minty.
   
4. A whole new branch of the Goldsby family has been added, including the King family, thanks to Cynthia Clausell.
   
5. The infamous outlaw, Crawford Goldsby, aka "Cherokee Bill", has been linked into the proper branch of the family. Thanks to Art Burton (historian and author) and Bennie McRae. The following WEB site is available including The Handbook Of Texas Online with an Article by Paul M. Lucko and Gunslinger.Com.
   "Cherokee Bill Goldsby," was born to George GOLDSBY and Ellen BECK.
